Caress Garten
Caress Garten comes
from Indianapolis Indiana. In November of 1992 as she was out
on her daily walk she was attacked by two dogs that she later
found out were used for fighting. Caress lost part of her leg
and began to bleed to death, but by the grace of God she was saved.
Five months after her own experience Caress became a child advocate
working hard to implement laws to better protect our children
from lethal dog attacks getting a dangerous dog law passed in
her own state.
The follow year the
lethal weapon law was amended to include animals. Her book On
Behalf of Innocence is the positive story that shows how the
power of one can make difference in protecting our children.
