She's a contributing editor for Dateline NBC, correspondent for NBC News. She has reported on a wide variety of topics. Is also recently authored a best selling book, "What's Heaven?" it's for children. This Peabody and Emmy Award winning journalist returns with another instructive book for children and their parents, "What's Wrong with Timmy?" which helps children understand and accept children with disabilities.

Maria has four children. She said, "if we teach our children that I think we'll all be doing our part here on earth." That's fabulous because we have to look for the spark of the image of God in every human being.
